...is a nurse practitioner who specializes in the treatment of adult psychiatric/mental health disorders. Ms. Mormile completed her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Minnesota. She will be awarded her DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) degree from Grand Canyon University this month. She has over a decade of inpatient and outpatient experience, providing diagnoses and medication management for a wide range of mental health symptoms. With a caring and holistic approach, Ms. Mormile helps adults of all ages work toward achieving better mental health.
Margie Wood, MSN, PMHNP-BC
...started out in the medical field in 1985. She began her career as a certified medical assistant working in nursing homes and gradually made her way to where she is today. She has held other certifications to include: Certified Lifeguard, Basic Emergency Medical Technician, Police Radio Dispatcher, Certified Medical Assistant, eventually getting her Associates and Bachelors as a registered nurse, then in 2013 she obtained her Masters in Nursing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Margie was trained by Frank Pieri, MD at Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center as a new Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Margie worked at Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center first as a CNA, then ward clerk while getting her RN degree, then as an RN for 6 years until she obtained her nurse practitioner license. She worked there for 8 more years. Margie has 2 grown children and 3 fur babies. She has lived in the Alamogordo/Tularosa Area for the majority of her life with the exception of moving out of state when she was married. She has stayed in this area because she wants to serve the mental health population of her home that she loves very much. “The people in this area are wonderful, I am part of them, and really want to take care of them so I stayed to do that." Margie is trying to incorporate her large patient population that has for the most part followed her from Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center, but she is also seeing new patients on a limited basis.
